We look forward to compiling a list of the top upcoming 2022 wedding trends. For our team, it’s a labor of love, and it’s always exciting to hear from experts about the innovative ideas we can expect to see in the months ahead. However, we can’t deny that this wedding season has been unlike any other. With the loosening of gathering restrictions, couples can have more flexibility in terms of guest lists and seating arrangements. With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and shortages wreaking havoc on the industry, anyone planning a wedding now deserves a standing ovation (and perhaps a strong beverage).

Guest-Centered Mindset

There has been a major shift in the industry as we enter a new wedding season. It’s not about color schemes, themes, or style. It’s about a shift in mindset. Kristy Rice of Momental Designs says, “We’re rapidly moving away from a couple-centered celebration to a guest-centered mindset.” “Couples are re-discovering ways to pamper their visitors.  Making them feel at ease and cared for is top priority. Many families are returning to the world of parties for the first time since their wedding.” And no, focusing on the guest experience does not imply a budget-busting expenditure. It could be as simple as switching up the seating arrangement at your wedding ceremony. Circular wedding ceremonies, in which guests are seated in a circle around the couple, are becoming more popular. Guests can see the couple and each other from all angles with this setup. Making the ceremony feel more comfortable. You could also include a surprise element in the day. Example: a special song-and-dance performance or a candy truck with your favorite treats. Surprises equal memories. You should prioritize creating them with the people you love the most after a year in lockdown.”

Bold and Bright Colors…and More of Them

There’s a bit of a contrast between bold bright and earthy neutrals in the hot color scheme for 2022. What is consistent, however, is the idea that color schemes are loose and flexible. Rather than picking two or three Pantone chips and never straying, couples are opting for a broader. And, given recent supply chain issues, we believe that flexibility and a focus on seasonal, sustainable choices are essential. Many wedding experts predict a return to bright colors, especially in floral arrangements. In 2022, expect to see a lot of bright pinks, purples, reds, and oranges in weddings. Mixing and matching i going to be popular. Color is back! Couples are increasingly walking into a color expression that hasn’t been seen in more than a decade. Put those shades on! I think we will see a lot of bold colors in the coming weddings. People want to celebrate big, and that usually comes with bright and bold color palettes to showcase the couple’s personalities.

…But Also, Earthy Neutrals

Others predict that muted hues will take center stage. What we’re seeing emerging is a color palette of earth tones. This palette focuses on the following colors: nude, beige, soft white, dusty rose, and rust. While these colors are lovely in their own right, it’s been rumored that they’re becoming more popular. Sunset tones and muted rusts, tans, and ambers will be big in the spring and summer of 2022.

Switching Up the Timeline

Couples who eloped or hosted a minimony in the previous year are ready to rejoice. Skipping the formalities relieves stress for many couples, allowing them to focus on just having a good time. There’s another way to shake things up if you’re having a more traditional ceremony and reception on the same day. An increasing number of couples are opting for a pre-ceremony cocktail hour. This includes cocktails and greetings before the ceremony and reception.

Destination Weddings

We’re seeing the start of a travel boom, in addition to a wedding boom. Why not tie the two together by planning a destination wedding? Today’s couples are ready to travel after a year and a half of being cooped up and saving money. No, we’re not suggesting that you book a private jet and rent out a European castle to benefit from the destination trend. Though hey, if you can afford it, go for it!. While Europe is becoming a popular wedding destination, many couples are opting for more local destinations.

Fun with Food

Yes, your guests are excited to see you marry, but they’re also there for the food. Couples and their caterers will take cuisine to the next level in 2022 by incorporating a sense of whimsy into each course. They are infusing their menus with cultural and sentimental dishes. Couples are not only offering signature cocktails, but also including a signature mocktail on their drink menu. This is another layer of inclusivity that modern-day couples are conscious of as they plan the details of their reception. Including a food truck in the wedding meal, whether for cocktail hour, the main course, dessert, or a late-night snack, is a pleasant surprise for guests. With a food truck, you can’t go wrong. It’s unquestionably a head-turner and a guest favorite.

Tech Focus

Couples who were forced to reduce their guest lists due to the pandemic used livestreaming technology to include loved ones who couldn’t attend. While the majority of the restrictions on gathering information have been lifted, livestreaming is here to stay. Online RSVPs are becoming increasingly popular. A majority of the couples are opting for their guests to RSVP via their wedding website.
